    Game Palace of Hell Master 

    NIGHT

    When the pink glow of sunset-tinged clouds disappears from the ceiling of the game palace, the silvery stars and ecru moon become visible. Absolute silence unfolds across this atmosphere. The thin, grey-blue strand of ceremonial smoke is the only movement noticeable. Look closely and you’ll discover the smoke is from the glimmering cinders, and the flaming blooms at dawn are burnt into ashes. The moment of time shift has arrived: a mysterious, unspoken signal is transmitted through air. It’s 20:30 the ceremony should begin now. The mirrors aligned themselves silently, moving out of their sleeping chamber, and the other creatures inside of the Game Palace come to life again at night, waiting ardently to join this confidential event.

    An intense, aromatic blast of Nanmu wood breaks through this almost suffocating atmosphere. Its unexpected aroma overshadows everything in the palace: the gigantic orange bouquets, luscious exotic fruits suspended upside-down from the ceiling, and even the burning red-blue flame from a cubic stone in the centre of the vast hallway.

    As constellations drift by on the ceiling of the game palace, the dark blue lightens to sapphire: dawn is arriving. Layers of blushing, fish-scale clouds brighten the translucent sky while the glowing embers of the ceremonial fire are reborn into infinite fragile orange petals. Carried away by a whiff of highly oxygenated fresh air, a new ceremony starts under the cryptic spell of fragrant blooms.

    After two years of conscientious work on the Cubist Trilogy collection, the newest olfactory artwork by Vincent Micotti is finally ready to be revealed. The 2022 Cubist Trilogy consists three perfumes:

    GAME PALACE OF HELL MASTER - NIGHT
    QUANTUM CHARGE IN AN ICE PALACE

    The impression of GPHM Game Palace of Hell Master is depicted through two fragrances: the Dawn and the Night. Representing the two opposing parts of each day, they exhibit an elusive, atmospheric exchange in an undisclosed place—the Game Palace. Dawn begins with a flamboyant radiance and carries this invigorating aura into an esoteric, ceremonial night-time. In turn, Night hypnotises with deep, shifting darkness as it returns us once more towards the bright coming of day. The extraordinary challenge in this conception is to achieve the kinetic effects of time by controlling the weight and strength of each fragrant molecule. In this way, the audience can sense the gradient of time—the evolving atmosphere and rhythm of the universe. Behind this metamorphosis, these two exquisite compositions reflect just one storyline: game might be hell, but hell is only a game.

    What kind of game is played in the Game Palace? How does a time-swap between Dawn and Night inside of the Game Palace feel like? All is to be revealed through these two olfactory artworks. Behind this metamorphosis, these two exquisite compositions reflect just one storyline: game might be hell, but hell is only a game.

    Unique Take On Oud


    Oud, with its long history of cultural influence inspired many for more than thousand years. For Vincent Micotti, delving into the true origin of Oud, and its distinctive context played in the social and cultural environment, is a key factor in creating a Oud perfume.

    In the past years, Vincent Micotti has released five perfumes which took the most precious Oud oil as the main character: Oud Ankaa, Théros, Théros Elixir, Point Mort and Night of GPMH. They all have its unique identity and challenge the status quo in today's Oud world.

    The broad olfactory spectrum exhibited in these perfumes identify its distinctive characters and its artistic value. "I am not a Oud dealer, I use Oud just as using any other raw ingredients, selecting only the best suitable ones for a specific concept I have in mind. If people want to own Oud as "Oud", my perfumes are not for them. There are large markets out there dealing all kinds of Oud, but my context is not at all the same," says Vincent Micotti. "For the Théros Elixir, we even made our own extraction with a historic piece of Kyara oud, that was a crazy one-off project. And unsurprisingly, all kinds of Kyara Oud appeared on the market since then."

    As beautiful as any other creations from nature, Oud deserves an artistic interpretation of another kind.
