A SPECIAL ARTIST EDITION
"Clap... hands... Goldberg!"
As a blue moon ascends silently into the twilight, the time transformer switches on again. A perfumed breeze, evocative of a golden autumn we’ve lived before, wafts through the air, shaping the purple sky into a painter’s palette. As we immerse ourselves in this moment, the melodious and ethereal notes of a piano expand the night and invite us on a synaesthetic excursion.
The silvery notes of the Goldberg Variations begin, underscored by this exceptional olfactory art. The rich, striking tones of the harpischord strings transport us to a late-summer orchard, full of the burnished colours of early autumn. We see the composer’s narrative accords reflect unspoiled landscapes, and we feel the old and new worlds merging seamlessly: forest air and piano chairs, harpischord brass strings and tobacco, moonlight and musical notes, library and immortelle bouquet, cembalo and coffee, all orchestrated in perfect symphony.
Let’s escape once more to that golden season, holding close this moment of sun-kissed daylight as we waltz towards Bach’s blue-moon night. Here we listen, we perceive, and we flourish.

THE PERFUME STORY
Goldberg Variations
Poised between two eras, this project explores the transformative potential of the space that connects them — a liminal territory where beauty, art, memory, and the senses converge.
In 2022, the Scent Festival Zürich invited Vincent Micotti to compose a new kind of symphony for the senses: Duftkonzert — The Perfume Concert. In collaboration with pianist Oliver Schnyder and Museum Aargau in Switzerland, this pivotal project reimagines Bach’s Goldberg Variations through scent, blending music and fragrance into a single immersive experience. Audiences are guided beyond sound, discovering Bach’s genius through the invisible language of perfume.
To capture the scenography behind Bach's Goldberg Variations, three perfume compositions were created — "The Composer’s Workspace", "The Forest Promenade", and the grand finale, "CLAP 2138". Each scent was the result of countless hours of creative exploration, not a marketing novelty but a dedicated act of artistic translation.
This is where the journey begins: stepping into a time capsule charged with sparkling energy, moving fluidly between Bach’s world and our own. Here, we experience the finest of both worlds, and encounter a new dimension of beauty — one that invites us to listen, breathe, and feel art in its purest form.
